Flashback

Remember these guys?! On a whim I decided to freestyle one of these today to see if I could make something really fast. It turned out cute! Now Joe's bouncing around the house jumping up and punching him to get an "extra life". Goof-ball! Next will be the red one!

Nathaniel's here!

Just in time, I finished this blanket for him the same day he was born! Now we've got to make our way to our friends' house to deliver the gift and say hi to the new little one (and catch up with his 3 big brothers and his Mommy and Daddy too). Can't wait! I made this blanket differently than the pattern calls for. Instead of using a more feminine scalloped edge, I made a "waves" edge so that it's a little more pointed or jagged and less "frilly". Also, instead of tying a bow in the ribbon, I simply overlapped the ends and sewed a decorative seam. That way it's a little more boyish. I think it turned out great!

Handwarmers!

I just finished making these fingerless gloves to keep my hands warm while crocheting. They are so cute! I used this pattern and modified it a bit to make them shorter. The colors are amazing; the colorway I used is called Creamsicle and it's so bright and vibrant and reminds me of summer.

I just uploaded a bunch of pics to Flickr... http://www.flickr.com/photos/bambooshootsltd/. Enjoy!

Awesome Hooks

So, in case you've been curious, I absolutely love my new hooks. They're so much lighter and smoother than the aluminum. The hook is also more pointed, so it makes it easier to get into the right place for each stitch. They're so soft to the touch and they look so gorgeous. I love using them and am looking forward to all the neat things I can make with them!

First Product Shipped!

Although I've been finished with it for a while, I just put my first project since starting my company into its shipping box! It's an adorable and soft little baby blanket for Joe's friend, an architect who shares the same office building. She recently had a little baby girl, and Joe was so proud to tell her that I'd make her something special for her little one. It makes me feel great to have a supportive husband who is proud of what I do! I'm such a lucky girl!

I also spent some time coming up with a product tag for each of my finished projects and came up with a cute little logo for my company. Then our best friend Wes, a graphics designer, came over and told me that it was best not to use ClipArt or regular Microsoft fonts for my product tags. He came up with something special in just a few minutes and is having some printed for me! I can't wait to see how they come out!

New hooks on their way!

Joe thought of an awesome Mother's Day present this year, new bamboo crochet hooks! I'm so excited for them to be delivered! I've got my set of aluminum ones, but I've heard so many people say they prefer the warmth and comfort of the bamboo hooks. We'll see if my speed and quality improve once they arrive! Thank you, my Love!

Getting Things Started!

Here I am, ready to get things moving! I have high hopes!
